Love, Every Day: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Belle Lacet Experience
Most people assume a lingerie boutique is about products.
At Belle Lacet, it’s usually about a moment — when someone finally feels comfortable, understood, and supported in her own body.
On February 12th, we’re opening the store a little differently. Our Ahwatukee boutique will become a small runway, a recording studio, and a community gathering as we host a lifestyle photo shoot and a live recording of the Move the Needle Podcast.
We are bringing in models — but not traditional ones. The women walking the runway are local women from our own community, chosen to represent real life and real bodies.
The cameras and microphones matter.
But the real story is what happens when someone sees herself differently.
A Community Fashion Show in Ahwatukee
If you picture a fashion show, you might imagine a stage, dramatic lighting, and professional models.
Our runway is an aisle between racks.
Guests sit just a few feet away. Conversations happen naturally. Sometimes there’s applause, sometimes laughter. The environment stays relaxed because the goal isn’t performance — it’s comfort.
The pieces featured aren’t meant for special occasions only. They’re meant for daily life: workdays, errands, travel, and evenings at home. Supportive designs, soft fabrics, and elegant styling that feels wearable instead of intimidating.
Beautiful doesn’t have to be uncomfortable.
Comfortable doesn’t have to be plain.
Live Podcast Recording in Phoenix
During the event, the Move the Needle Podcast will record live inside the boutique. Hosted by former radio personality Matthew Blades and community catalyst Steven Petz, the Arizona-based YouTube series highlights individuals making a positive difference in their communities.
Instead of a studio, the conversation will take place right inside the store.
The discussion won’t be about fashion trends. It will center on the kinds of conversations that naturally happen during fittings — confidence, body changes, life transitions, relationships, and the relief people feel when something finally fits correctly.
It turns out a fitting room is often where people say things they’ve been holding onto for years.
The microphones simply capture it.
The Lifestyle Photo Shoot
Photographer Shane Baker Studios will document the event through a lifestyle photo shoot inside the boutique. Rather than staged modeling, the goal is to capture candid moments — encouragement, nervous laughter, and the moment someone realizes she looks and feels different than she expected.
The purpose isn’t perfection.
It’s recognition.
Sometimes a photograph becomes the first time a person sees herself the way others already do.
Styling by Seventh Avenue Beauty
Hair and makeup will be provided by Seventh Avenue Beauty, focusing on polish without transformation. The intention isn’t to create a different person, but to help participants feel prepared and comfortable stepping forward.
When styling supports confidence instead of replacing it, people stop adjusting and start relaxing — and that’s when genuine expressions happen.
A Different Kind of Valentine’s Week
Valentine’s Day often focuses on being seen by someone else.
We think it can also be about seeing yourself differently.
The garments featured during the event aren’t meant to be saved for special occasions. They’re designed for real life — mornings, meetings, errands, and evenings at home.
When something fits well, posture changes.
Confidence follows.
That’s what we celebrate.
